Baby Emma

Above is baby Emma - Our buffalo calf. Really didn't want to meet her because in a few months she will be on the BBQ :( She's 6 mths now and about 300lbs. Eddie says she'll be about 1,200 lbs when it's dinner time....She's very shy and her best friend is piggy the pig.

Joker had fun at the farm. He liked barking at all the animals including poor Emma. Emma wasn't too cool with that .... Barking was tame compared to his stunt that led to the rest of the visit on the leash .... He decided it would be ok to catch a chicken. The above picture is Jokes with a mouth of of chicken feathers. Needless to say Joker's stunt didn't go over very well. Wimpy poodle -yeah right!!! He spent about 15 minutes sizing up the group of three rosters and a hen. Then all of the sudden bam he was on the hunt. There was no stopping him. And poodles are fast ... shocked everyone there .... I finally caught up with him and removed the hen ... luckily with minimal damage. I think she'll live. But it was very uncomfortable the first 30 minutes after the incident .... Wasn't sure of the etiquette for when your dog attempts to kill a friends pet at a dinner party. All I can say ... very awkward :(

Cold Mornings Over Sandy Creek

The mornings are getting cold cause the lake to fog up at first light. Very pretty but signalling the end of the growing season.

Found this old picture of the Mexican Plum in bloom. Hoping for a good showing this spring. The rains have come and should aid the spring flowers. Keeping my fingers crossed that we will have a good wild flower season. The forecast is for the rain keep up through winter, if it does then we will see a good show.
